Quack Slows to a Crawl
Quack! Online and offline has slowed down to a crawl with a dearth of fresh content from writers. Fewer students are visiting the site, with exams being the only thing they can think of.
Despair not. During the winter break following the exams, Quack! Online will be back with a big bang. We’re looking at a new layout, improved content mangement system, easier posting of articles and comments, and registered commenting. We’re also looking at buying our own space, with TISF giving the money for the project.
And when we’ll have our own space, we’ll have our own name. No more quack.offroadpakistan.com. While we’re still open to suggestions, the domain names we’re thinking of are either quackonline.com or tiponline.com. What do you think?

The End-User Lab
After lot of blessings of students 30 branded P4`s were brought in the premise of Textile Institute of Pakistan. How glad we were, But Wait.!! where those HI_FI sytems (including four P4 systems in end user lab) escaped?? The answer of this wierd quetion I found out from a freshmen that “those state of the art systems are decorated in the “Teaching Lab” of Textile Institute of Pakistan “.
Isn`t it ironic to know that only 15 systems (most of them are entirely outdated)are available for 350 students, & those HI_FI systems are laying eggs in the “Teaching lab”.Where they are used just for Microsoft Word & Excel.
During the Peak timing, the end user lab is indicatitng the picture of fish market, where students sit on the Cabins; wait for their turns.
I request the management to please do something about it, because its annoying the students more than anything else.

Students at TIP: The Jackal and the Lambs
TIP is an institute where you will find students from all parts of Pakistan. These students make up a very unique culture which is rarely found in other universities. These different breeds of students have varied characteristics. The three prominent characteristics are
# the Burgers,
# the Jatts, and
# the Bun Kababs.
Although they are less in number than the other normal students, they still manage to be in the limelight. Apart from these three, there are many other breeds of students as well, such as
# the Khalifaas,
# the Chatnees, and
# the Maylaas.

The continuous hype of ‘Not Smoking’
As I pen this article of mine, I unconsciously see myself thinking which of the probable reactions it is more prone to get ; creating a furor amongst my (male) peers, or it’s contents be toyed with and forgotten. How vain my efforts to enlighten the majority, of precisely why smoking is considered a hazard, I hope in thus resolving Monday onwards.
It’d be unrealistic to say that ‘to experiment with a drag’ is absurd and uncouth. It is a stage which all adolescents go through, and the rapid realization of them ‘growing up’ adds to their want of ‘looking old’, and acting like ‘grown ups’. Smoking, like applying make-up (for girls), and experimenting with the rough ruddy look for guys, is thus part of a transition that most children go though. Here I would like to clarify that it does not in any way assist the transition, but is simply a phase; one, which it is harder to wear out of, as once said by Mark Twain:
“To cease smoking is the easiest thing I ever did, I ought to know because I’ve done it a thousand times”

“Quack to Offer Hope” and Congratulations to the Team
This month Quack Online! has already got more visitors in the third week of the month than all of October. Last month saw 1601 unique individuals visiting 50,005 times, viewing 19,724 files. The increased number of files viewed is attributed to the many pictures put on on Quack! over the last month and a half. November so far has seen 1611 visitors coming 74,244 times, viewing 18,576 files. The average number of daily visitors has increased by 140% to 70. The statistics shows that the viewer ship of Quack! Online has steadily increased since its launch on August 11, and has gained many regular readers.
Comment spam is turning into a problem, with many people posting absolutely useless shit (spam), irrelevant comments, and fighting over trivial issues (flame). Case in point is the Comment Wannabe’s article that saw 33 comments over nothing, and proves that some Tipians are so stupid do not get the point. A comment blacklisting system is in order.
But there are also interesting articles, with interesting discussions following, such as the Need for a Mosque and the controversial Senseless Scandals and Gender Partiality issues.

Need for a Mosque
T.I.P was established in 1994 (correct me if I’m wrong). It was a small institute inside a bungalow (like the city office). Then in 1998 we shifted to the new campus (here at Ghaghar Phatak). The construction was not complete by this time. And only important buildings were constructed. Important buildings included the main building, cafeteria and hostels, but not a mosque.
Often when construction of some project or industry starts, the first block laid down is of a mosque. But on the contrary, mosque was given least preference. Isn’t it strange that there is no mosque in T.I.P when there is strength of 300 Muslim students? Every time for prayers the students have to run sometimes to the processing lab, sometimes to the spinning lab, sometimes to the cafeteria and sometimes to the hostels.
President T.I.P should look into this matter seriously and get the mosque constructed as soon as possible. Also the President TISF Mr. Abdul Saboor should reach out for sponsors and I know that he is very much capable of doing this. I’ll also try to find one.
