Textile Institute of Pakistan has just introduced short courses which will be taught at city campus. There are 20 courses which cover textiles, business and communication. I personally find stress management and Communication skill courses very promising and beneficial for us students. It means that no more burden of studies and no more hesitation while giving presentation, we can certainly improve our skills and manage ourselves better. Well! It is nothing new to all of you ladies and gentlemen that how failure TISF has been in the past year to entertain students of TIP. Last year I attended four events done by TISF:
1) Freshmen Gala
3) Fun festival
All of the events were to some extent unorganized, controversial, boring and dull. Let’s take an example of Freshman Gala, it was much unorganized, guitars were not working properly, sometimes voice was not coming out of the microphone. Same thing happened with Carnival, there were no harmony and no unity. It was like as if everybody was celebrating their own carnival. Then comes the fun festival but was it actually fun festival or valentine? The biggest controversial event of the year 2009 was concert. If I had any idea about the free tickets thing, I would have never even bothered to come. Such type of discrimination was practiced by TISF. Continue reading “TISF FAILS TO ENTERTAIN STUDENTS…………..”
I am deeply saddened to share the demise of one of our graduate’s family members. Mr Imran Ghani Khan’s (Class of 2005) brother, sister-in-law (bhabhi) and three kids died yesterday in the plane crash in Islamabad that killed 152 people. May Allah rest their souls and grant them the highest rank in Heaven. Ameen.

After many controversies, disapprovals, de-marketing and rejections finally Textile Institute of Pakistan celebrated its mega event of the year 2010 on 9th April. Basant and concert were the two parts of that evening. Basant started at 4:00 pm and lasted till the start of the concert. The weather was perfect with cool winds blowing, that shows the perfect planning. There was a kite stall and a chaat stall. People flew kites and ate chaat. Later the huge number of crowd was gathered when a surprise was given to the people by TISF came true; STING (an energy drink) team came to TIP and offered free energy drinks to all the people present over there and large amount of the drinks were consumed by the people. The dinner stall started selling chicken Tikka, roll (beef and chicken) at about 7:30 PM.
Textile Institute of Pakistan has celebrated it’s carnival on Dec 04 2009. The event was
beautifully arranged by Textile Institute Students Forum. Many students and Texperts brightened the night with their colorful yet scary costumes. The theme was Halloween with the Desi touch. The event started with the coverage of AAG TV who not only captured the scary and desi night in their cameras but also made the crowd to dance the night away. The event included “Dance competition” and “Best costume award” and cash prizes were awarded to deserving participants by the host of AAG TV. The location of carnival was decorated with scary theme in mind; there were graves with RIP signs on them which were not only frightening but became favourite photo shoot spot for the students.
