Finally..they have learnt the idea!
Students and faculty members had been criticizing TIP’s higher authorities for not marketing our institute the way it should be. Finally, they have learnt and they came up with a colorful advertisement with a slight touch of glamour. Those who have missed today’s DAWN (14 Dec, 2008), Quack! provides you with the latest update…
Your comments are most welcome about this “great” thought and idea!

TDT Degree Show 2008 - a review
‘Annual Degree Show’ or the ‘Final Year Thesis Display’ by the our textile designers is a widely anticipated and sought after event by most of us at TIP. It holds importance to not only the design graduates, as they flaunt what they have learned in their art school, but also to other students , alumni and faculty who look forward to seeing some exotic, scintillating and eclectic themes exectued immaculately with perfection in form of a variety of products. In my view this year thesis display was a bit of disappointment, the reason for which I will later explain in this review. Starting from the marketing of the event to the variety of products displayed, the level of anticipation by the designers to the techniques employed , the originality of the themes to the execution of the products, there were loopholes which somewhat faded the excellence of TIP Design show 2008.

First of all, there was an absence of Read the rest of this entry »

TIP defeats FAST in six-a-side Futsal
In a nerve wrenching encounter, playing against a team of six and a home crowd of hundreds, TIP’s Futsal team defeated host team FAST-NUCES by 2 goals to 1.
In an interview with key player and senior star futsaller Muhammed Mangel (AMM4), our Quack! correspondent gathered that the team is in high spirits and playing some good Futsal.
“I’m beginning to realize the importance of previously playing together as a team and losing,” he said.
He also stated that if the team hadn’t participated in those earlier tournaments and lost, it wouldn’t have managed to win today. Also, today after four years Mangel felt like he was part of a university team when TIP’s representatives walked onto the pitch in uniforms instead of vests purchased off a donkey cart.
TIP played her next match against PAF-KIET on Friday March, 13 ‘08 and lost in a penalty shootout after no goals were scored during the allotted playing time.

People who C.A.R.E can finally prove it

The official meeting of the people who C.A.R.E was held on the 14th of February, a day where people care about themselves and sometimes that special someone, therefore it was a shock to see the turnover which proved that yes, people can come out of their self centered shells and actually C.A.R.E( no pun intended ☺) about people other then themselves. The main reason for the meeting was to actually discuss various ways to make the environment of TIP safer, while simultaneously fulfilling our quota of community service. It was to make people want to contribute and give something of themselves to the society.
The meeting started off with Asim or rather Sir Asim trying to prove certain allegations made against the people who C.A.R.E, wrong. It was said that their endeavors are usually a rush with complicated ‘angrezi‘ being the sole way to communicate. In defense Asim released strings of complicated Urdu words that left me confused, but made an impact that left no doubt that everyone would be ‘heard‘. C.A.R.E was providing a forum for everyone to give ideas and opinions irrespective of the language they wish to use.
In reference to the recent riots, as a result of the Bhutto death, and the 200 something people thrashing TIP, the people who C.A.R.E gathered to discuss ways that would prevent something like this happening at our institute again. Read the rest of this entry »
