At this point when TIP is facing extreme crisis Dr Zubair Bandukda has stepped in again and joined TIP. Yet nobody knows, what his plans are but it seems like he is already in action. He’s been meeting every single student individually, to discuss and ask their opinions on how to make things better at TIP and also had a meeting with the alumni at city campus today.

Recently, MJ has done some new value addition the Cafeteria’s washrooms; liquid soap dispensers. Not that bar soaps are bad, but this probably sounds nicer (and more luxurious). Unfortunately, if you look around, you’ll see something more important missing in the campus. Yup! You got it rite, our mascot, the Goose! All of TIP’s pets, the geese, (leaving behind only four,) have been sold to buy these unnecessary liquid soap dispensers.

Is washing greasy hands with liquid soap in the Cafeteria more important having our beloved mascots frolicking across the campus grounds giving immense pleasure to students, faculty and guests?  On behalf of protesting students, I request TIP’s higher management to look into this serious matter. For a person who can sell the institute’s asset without any approval from the stakeholders, it may not be a wise decision to give charge of the entire fund of the student body for TISF activities. Can we trust him??

The concept of separation in the subcontinent was brought by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan on the basis of the “two nation theory” that Muslims and Hindus are two separate nations by every definition. This gave the core defined concept and logic to the Muslims of the subcontinent, on the basis of which Iqbal dreamed and Jinnah later fought and we became Pakistan with the meaning of La Ilaha Ilalah.

The existence of Pakistan laid the foundation of hatred, India as our enemy and we as theirs. Today, Pakistan is in its 64^th year of independence without Kashmir being the part of it, and it is the node that has maintained the frequency of hatred and emotional enmity between the two nations. But let’s just analyze what we have come about over these years. In 2007, our media provoked the case of Makhtara Mai and created a dreadful image of our society and the rights of women in Islam. In 2009, our American Aided NGO’s exaggerated the cosmetic scene created by Taliban in SWAT agency of beating up a woman and declaring it as a punishment according to the laws of Islam. But we didn’t even realized that our 70,000 Kashmiri brothers and sisters have been martyred by the barbarous Indian Army, thousands of our sisters have been raped but we have no feelings towards to this Indian attitude, all our concern is for the INDIA-PAKISTAN SEMIFINAL!!! What a nation we are!!

Though we, Muslims are commanded in the Holy Quran as:

“And what is wrong with you that you fight not in the cause of Allah, and for those weak, ill-treated and oppressed among men, women, and children whose cry is, “Our Lord! Rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from you one who will protect, and raise for us from You one who will help!” (Surah Al Nisa Verse:75)

The trend of drawing blasphemous cartoons of our beloved Prophet PBUH is a norm these days, a few days back, Terry Jones conducted an eight minute trial in the court of Florida, burned the Holy Quran which was soaked in Kerosene oil for more than an hour and also declared it as a book that can make a man go astray.

Was our response to this whole situation as a true Muslim? Did we actually showed our moral and religious concern which is obligatory…NO, the only concern we have today is the INDIA-PAKISTAN SEMIFINAL!!! What a nation we are!!

Killing of innocent lives in our tribal territory and target killings especially in Karachi by the so called SPY planes and the Teesari Qouwat is on a rampant increase in our country. In the recently happened 200^th drone attack we witnessed that our Army Chief Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani is a Ghairat Mand Pakistani by condemning it for the very first time and proved that he is a man who believes in his core duties as a Muslim and as a Pakistani. But was our concern about these uncertain situations in accordance with who we really are? No and NO again because our main concern is the INDIA-PAKISTAN SEMIFINAL!!! What a nation we are!!

The fake environment that has been created by the media, especially the joint ventures of our artists and musicians, indulgence in festivals such as Basant and Holi and also the much created hype about AMAN ki ASHA are just a few symbols of rebounding Islam and Hinduism and Pakistan with India, which is the height of hypocrisy as a Muslim and as a Pakistani. Our policies, strategies and political response towards Indian sarcastic attitude and the continued violence on muslims in Gujrat, Ahmedabad and the occupied Kashmir are totally in supportive to them. We have no concern for injustice since our major concern is the INDIA-PAKISTAN SEMIFINAL!!! What a nation we are!!

We say, we feel proud for being a Pakistani, but did we ever thought that our country feels the same about us? The great leader Abraham Lincoln, said about his Country and to his Countrymen:

“I don’t like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives. I like to see a man live so that his place will be proud of him.”

We have chosen the path to live with hypocrisy and diplomacy which satisfies our lives with no logical explanation, disobedience and opposition to Allah and his messenger in each and every aspect of life.

And we Muslims are commanded in the Holy Quran as:

“And whoever disobeys and opposes the Messenger (SAW) after the right path has been shown clearly to him, and follows other than the believers way. We shall keep him in the path he has chosen, and burn him in Hell – what an evil destination.”

(Sura Al Nisa Verse:115)

We, Pakistanis have become a victim of this distressing state which is affecting our social and individual lives. No solution seems to be viable to this woe other than the only one and that is to establish EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE.

Emotional Intelligence can make us more productive and successful at what we do and how we do it. We need to develop rudiments to reduce stress for ourselves, decrease conflicts, and improve relationships, increase constancy, continuity and harmony.

EQ as most people refer it to as Emotional Intelligence rose to prominence with Daniel Goleman’s 1995 international bestseller called Emotional Intelligence.

EQ relates strongly with concepts of love and spirituality, bringing consideration and humanity to work and also to Multiple Intelligence which highlights and measures the range of potentials people possess and the fact that everyone has a value and we can all make a difference.

The EQ concept disputes that IQ is too tapered an entity to enable us to understand how successful one can be. We have all met people with high IQ levels who are academically so brilliant but socially inept. Success does not automatically follow a high IQ rating.

Goleman based his research on performances of top executives from some of the world’s largest corporations and concluded that almost 90% of leadership success possess EQ as its major key element.
