Heres an interesting fact for the freshies.
In the good old days(by good old days I mean up until the last semester) anyone could stay at the hostel temporarily and that was and always has been such an important part of our student life. But off course the poor freshies wouldn’t know that because of the cursed B.A.N.
Why on earth was this ban imposed you must be wondering?
Well, It’s a weird thing thag CAN be posted here but ill prefer not to. Ask anyone in TIP, they’ll know what it was and you’re guaranteed to have an awkward conversation.
Anyways Coming to the point, the temporary hostel stay always always has been one of the charms of TIP life. Whether You have a group assignment or presentation to do, got an hourly or an important quiz to prepare for or you’re a TDT student falling behind on the weaving. The solution used to be simple. stay at hostel a day and Tadaa! Problem solved. and it even came with the extra perk of sitting back in smoking area at the time of sunset, relaxing, having a peaceful cup of chaye and just enjoying the away-from-the-city peace for a moment.
But then ‘IT’ happened. The management found out whatever they found * we all know what it was*. Decided to punish the rest of 398 students for the actions of 2 of them because that perfectly makes SOO MUCH sense right? *Might’ve been more than 2 depending on their preference iykwim*
Now it’s been a semester and god knows how tough it has been. Whenever we have a hostellite in a group assignment, the group co-ordination becomes impossible resulting in even worse marks than you’d normally get. Even for design students. With the workload from all the courses they could relax about weaving to a certain degree because all they had to do is stay for a day and complete it. but they can’t do it anymore because of the absolutely brilliant step of banning night stays for day scholars.
Now if you look at this situation from an outsiders perspective. This would STILL look like a very unreasonable ban taking away such an important part of campus life from students and for something about which you can’t even be 100% sure that it even DID happen.

Hearty Congratulations to Aaminah Shahzad for winning TISF elections.
“Aaminah Shahzad is the new President of TISF!’’ The feeling is beyond explanation and cannot be put into words. Not even having to wait for another moment but to hear just what our ears were dying to. Her victory is not just her’s. It’s a collective victory. And we cannot rejoice it enough. This is History. First time a Girl wins a seat for the TISF Elections and that too of a President. This itself says it all. The change is here. It is surely a proud moment for all of us. And there is no more need of being afraid, very afraid.

Team TiES feels great proud in giving the students of this institute some very productive and informative personalities consecutively over the past few weeks so that the students should move along the competitive world by their personal grooming and motivation to be a remarkable representation of Textile Institute of Pakistan. A recent example was the session of TIPtalk where the students enjoyed, shared, mingled shouting out loud with what they think their strengths are, and were influenced by the deep voice and influencing words of Mr. Zain Goplani. On the other hand, we feel ashamed on some bad habits of the students here that they were late and most were absent giving off a low strength to such a person who could have changed their lives.

TIP witnessed a great day of this leap year on a date we wait for four years to come. Apart from its importance, one of the most successful sessions of TIP Talk were held and organized by team TIES which had a turnout of about 150 students along with some dispersed faculty in the lecture theatre to control the discipline. Obviously, many didn’t know about the speaker they were about to listen and be surprised and inspired from.
