Convocation for the graduating batch of 2008 was held today at the Textile Institute of Pakistan’s Bin Qasim Campus. Arif Hasan, Chancellor TIP, and Dr.Zubair Bandukda, President TIP, presided over the event. The key note speaker for this year’s convocation was Prof. Salima Hashmi, internationally acclaimed painter.
The honour of giving the valedictory speech was given to valedictorian Salman Tahir of BBA (Hons.) Textile Management & Marketing, while the prestigious Eqbal Ahmed Award was awarded to Ali Hakeem of BSc. (Hons.) Textile Science.
A total of 110 students, belonging to business, textile science and textile design departments were awarded degrees.
Lots of heartiest congratulations to the graduating class. I wish you all, lots of success in your future endeavours.

Congratulations Hakeem! I hear you’re going to put the well-deserved Eqbal Ahmed money into worthy causes such as the the one you were involved with, the one where you gave the students a voice (and audio and video!), causes such as Quack!
