HEC offers discounted broadband

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) is offering discounted DSL broadband to HEC students, staff and faculty at their residence. The connection is available through PTCL at a 30% discount over their regular rates.

The Higher Education Commission has taken a number of initiatives for broadening the reach of Information Technology to meet the IT challenges of the country, especially for the education sector. The Higher Education Commission has recently signed a MoU with PTCL for the provisioning of Broadband DSL connections to students, faculty members and administrative staff at substantially subsidized rates at their residence. This DSL facility/service under this MoU offers Broadband connection at 256 kbps, 512 kbps and 1 Mbps with a 30% discount on prevailing PTCL commercial rates against each capacity.

See the HEC website for more information.

  1. Shoaib, that link can only be accessed through HEC university/institution networks. The error is not a 404, rather is a connection timed out. If you are not on an HEC network, you could try sending them an email.
