The annual Times Higher Education Supplement ranks the world’s top universities. This year three Pakistani universities have made it in the top 600.
The National University of Science and Technology (NUST) has been ranked No. 470, University of Karachi has been ranked No. 560 and Islamabad’s Quaid-e-Azam University has been ranked No. 564.
The ranking of Pakistani public universities among the top universities of the world was proof of the efforts of the HEC to raise the standards of higher education.

That is no doubt a great achievment but still we are not satisfied, we want to see our universities in top 100 of the world, we do not want heavy budget on defence but we want heavy bugdet on education…
I have noticed a spark in the policies of HEC chairman Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman and I am sure that if these policies continues, we will be included among educated nations of the world..the thing is we need to be consistent in our startegies and approaches…!
