A look at the most recent, and the first day time event by TISF.
Have you ever been to that one movie, with all your friends after a very long time and you know that the movie isn’t anything special but you’re still really excited about it because at least you get to have fun? That’s basically what the case was with the most recent event by TISF that we got in the form of “SpringFest16″.
After a series of semi successful to successful night events such as BBQ ,Halloween and sports nights ,this event was the first day time event and
for that reason everyone was expecting a lot from it, perhaps a bit too much considering the limited budget *as we are told* our organizers get to work with. The guys and girls were all putting in an extra effort in getting ready because of ‘the event’ which was gonna end with ‘rang’ anyway so if you ask me, that wasn’t such a great idea because when those layers of ‘good looks’ get removed by the rang water, an epic display of weird looking colored scary monsters is what we get to witness and that is exactly what happened and IT.WAS. SWEET. Kind of tragic in a way, maybe a tad bit wrong morality wise..But yeah sweet.
Now coming back to the event itself, there were a lot of things to do there, The jumping castle (was fun), the other jumping castle kind of thing (no idea what it’s supposed to be), the huge ball thingy (my personal favorite) *I don’t know what it’s called so ill just call it the huge ball thingy* and sumo wrestling too.
The jumping castle, as it is generally called but if you ask me, the word castle would be a little bit exaggerating? I guess. But eh, it was fun .. Think about any famous wrestling move you might be familiar with from watching WWE, whether it’s the Spear, the Rock bottom, the Powerbomb or an F5, all of them were used by guys on each other and it was crazy fun. Then there was the huge ball thingy, sure you had to wait a little for your turn but once inside it turned the world upside down ..quite literally.
The general feedback to it was mixed. Some thought it wasn’t worth the hype ,Most were just disappointed ,Some decided not to be a part of it and sat in the café saying ‘Garmi hy’ *the worst kind of people*, while some actually enjoyed the hell out of it.
A lot of people complained about the lack of stalls but you can’t put all the blame on TISF, the lack of stalls was the fault of students, they’re the ones responsible for them it just goes to show that we HAVE gotten lazy and all most of us do is complain. Then there were the problems with the way it was all organized , the event started a bit late than it was promised ,there weren’t enough rides and also the tents/shamianas/tamboos *call them what you want* were not properly installed, some of them fell down and the others were quite LITERALLY dancing to the beats of music , it looked like all of them might fall on our heads any second and admit it or not, a lot of you wished that it DOES fall I mean, just imagine the chaos. It would’ve been the best thing to come out of the night.
Anyways that’s basically all there was to it, all the jokes and sarcasm aside, the best thing about it was the fact that there was something HAPPENING and we got to see that excitement on the faces of everyone that is so rare here at TIP, things have become so stale here that it is frustrating, we rarely ever have something to look forward to so here it is to hoping, that we get better days like this one more often.
